Gegrond Beter Helfte Half-Caff Blend
Our first taste of a half-caff coffee came thanks to our friend Matt Carter, who brought the idea back from his travels in New Zealand.
We’ll admit — we were skeptical. But the more we noticed friends and family skipping their afternoon coffee to avoid the late-night effects of caffeine, the more it made sense. A blend that kept the flavor and ritual, but dialed down the buzz, could be just what was missing.
The Beter Helfte is never set in stone — it will change as our decaf supply changes. Right now, it’s an even marriage of 50% Ethiopian Sugarcane Decaf and 50% Tanzania AA from the Mbeya Region, offering full character with only half the caffeine.
A gentle 50% decaf, 50% caffeinated blend. Perfect for late mornings, afternoons, or whenever you want to enjoy great coffee with a lighter caffeine touch.

50% Tanzania AA – medium roast.

Very mid; taste and composition is ok for what it is. However, the taste itself for me is just too mild / timid and lacks feel of being coffee. 50/50 roast would probably fix this.

Half-Caff is actually great – I tried this again and it was a lot better after having correctly adjusted the water to ground ratio. Inasmuch as we mostly tell ourselves, measuring both is actually important and not just the grounds.
