Colombia Atunkaa Sugarcane Decaf
R240.00 – R900.00
This coffee was sourced from 18 producers in the Argelia area of Cauca, Colombia. To enhance quality, agronomists from Siruma have helped standardize processing methods for local growers.
The cherries are selectively harvested every 15–18 days to ensure optimal ripeness. On harvest day, the coffee is floated to eliminate defects and impurities.
After pulping, the beans ferment in mucilage inside open tanks for 15–18 hours. They are then washed twice and dried to a moisture content of 10%.
Once dried, Siruma oversees dry milling before the coffee is sent to Descafecol for decaffeination. Descafecol employs a chemical-free, natural decaffeination method.
This Colombian Sugarcane Decaf has tasting notes of:
Red berries, pear, milk chocolate and almond
Decaf has become increasingly difficult to find, the price has also surged immensely.
