How it Works: 

 

 

  1. Order a Bag of Coffee for Collection: Swing by and pick up a bag of our finest coffee beans, carefully selected for your enjoyment.
  2. Take Home a Tree Sapling: With each order that includes a bag of coffee, receive a small Outeniqua Yellowwood tree Sapling—a living reminder of your commitment to sustainability.
  3. If You Order for Delivery: The tree will display in your cart, but it will not be delivered. Saplings does not love being shipped, but if you are planning to swing by Pretoria, or have someone living close by, and really really want one, let us know in your order notes and we will be more than happy to keep one aside for you.

Outeniqua Yellowwood Info

Climate: 

  • Thrives in temperate to subtropical climates. 
  • Well-suited for regions with mild temperatures and moderate rainfall. 

Sunlight: 

  • Prefers full to partial sunlight. 
  • Can tolerate some shade but best growth occurs in well-lit areas. 

Soil: 

  • Well-draining soil is essential. 
  • Sandy loam or loamy soil types are ideal. 

Watering: 

  • Requires regular watering, especially during dry periods. 
  • Soil should be kept consistently moist but not waterlogged.

Fertilization: 

    • Responds well to balanced, slow-release fertilizers in spring. 
    • Avoid excessive use of high-nitrogen fertilizers. 

 

Pruning: 

  • Generally low-maintenance in terms of pruning. 
  • Can be shaped or trimmed to control size if necessary. 

Hardiness: 

  • Hardy once established but benefits from protection against strong winds when young. 

Disease and Pests: 

  • Resistant to most pests and diseases. Can use Koinor to control Conifer Aphid infestations (We have already dosed them) 
  • Ensure good air circulation to prevent issues. 

Mature Size: 

  • Can reach a height of 15 to 25 meters (50 to 80 feet) in ideal conditions.
